About Me

What Can I Do For You?

I have been  working in the fitness industry since  March 2015 - this decision came about through a burning desire to help others make changes to their lives and play a significant part in guiding people towards a fitter and healthier lifestyle. 

My own interest in fitness began in my early twenties, when I went through a lifestyle transformation of my own - managing to lose a total of 5 stone over a period of several years, I remain within the 5% of people who have lost a large amount of weight and have successfully kept it off. Small, non-extreme changes that built up over time, is the key to making such a huge change and I am passionate about promoting long-term, sustainable changes, over short-term and extreme 'quick fixes'. 

There are so many wide-ranging benefits to exercise and whilst my own history of weightloss is relevent to my initial interest in developing a relationship with regular exercise, it is by no means the main benefit that I promote to clients. 

I work with a diverse group of one-to-one clients, male and female, ranging from 18-70+ years of age. They come to me for a variety of reasons - these include improving strength, mobility and flexibility, guidance with exercising through pregnancy or the immediate post-natal period, weightloss and general improvments in fitness. Some are completely new to exercise and require guidance and support in getting started, while others perhaps need a push to try a new way of challenging their body.

Most recently I have completed a cancer rehab qualification and am currently working with clients who have either recently completed or are currently undergoing treatment for cancer - this is both a challening and highly reqarding string to my bow.

I am not a 'boot camp' style trainer and I certainly never shout - I am encouraging, supportive, professional and empathetic. I focus on correct technique, appropriate exercise selection and intensity along with ensuring the basics are mastered before they are progresed. 

In addiion to my one-to-one work, I am a qualified spin instructor and teach classes in Central London. Most of my personal training takes place in South West London, where I have access to several fantastic fascilities; I do also see clients at home if that is their preference.

The majoirty of the work I do is in personal training studios, which are fully equiped with everything we could possibly need! However, for the clients that I do see at home, I have the following: TRX, boxing gloves and pads, skipping ropes, medicine ball, dumbells, resistance bands and cones. I can also provde one to one sessions remotely, via Skype or Facetime and minimal equipment is needed for this.
