I knew Mark through a few friends and told him I wanted to lose weight as I had slowly become very overweight from sitting in an office all day and doing no real exercise.

Mark went through the basics of exercise for me, took me in a gym for the first time & showed me some basic ideas behind the equipment & ways to exercise. He started me off at a comfortable level and advised me how to change my current way of eating into a healthier diet but still enjoying some of the food I love.

It wasn’t long before I saw some changes, my clothes were becoming looser & Mark suggested I do some progress photos, I was a bit nervous at first, but they really helped me see the changes and I eventually lose 3.5 stone. I have since maintained my healthy weight for the last year, I don’t just wear black anymore, I’m very happy with how I look, I have a lot more confidence, and I can still enjoy a sausage roll every so often. I still see Mark once a week for a session and he is always suggesting new ideas and keeps me on track.

I have been working with Mark since the beginning of 2014 and he is credit to his profession and a true market practitioner. I have maintained a good level of fitness throughout the years through self motivation and working with personal trainers and fitness coaches. I was introduced to Mark and instantaneously my level of fitness, performance, motivation and nutrition plan were enhanced markedly. He is meticulous in his planning and instinctively knows when to push those extra reps out of you when your body is creaking. He takes the time to explain the benefits of a particular exercise and targetting a muscle group, whether it be high intensity cardio sets or more controlled resistance reps, ensuring correct form and posture throughout. He works to my timetable and always follows up with written programs. Mark is a professor of Sports Science and his pursuit of higher education in this field is a testament to his dedication and professionalism. I came to Mark around January 2012 after I had gained a bit of weight and had generally been ignoring my health. We came up with the goals of getting back into Thai boxing and becoming fit enough for an amateur fight, something I had not done for 7 years.

Mark went through my current gym programme, looked at my eating patterns and then produced me a gradually improving food plan and a tough new training programme. I started training 2 sessions a week with him alongside following his programme for another 2 days a week.

The weight started flying off, within 2 months we started looking at fights and he created me a 6 week fighter’s nutrition & training plan. I was in fantastic shape, not just physically, but I looked incredible too. It was hard work, but was constantly helped and Mark suggested ideas & tips to keep me going. I’m now on the back of a 4 fight winning streak and still in the best shape of my life.

Since Mark has given me a new nutrition programme to maintain and try add some muscle & strength in preparation for my next few fights.
