Running Tests

Many people use a general running test as a way to measure basic fitness from police forces and fire departments through to schools, a general running test is one of the easiest ways to assess fitness.

The advantages of a test such as this are numerous it is cheap, requires almost no specialist equipment, can be done just about anywhere, and is quick and easy to repeat regularly.

The most typical form of running tests use either a set time (typically 10 or 12 minutes) to measure how far the athletes cover, or they use a pre-measured distance that must be covered within a time limit. Either way it's easy to measure and track improvement.
