About Me

I'm David Harris, and I'm a personal fitness trainer based in Bourne End at the Gym Joint but I am also available for training at your home and worldwide via video call.

 

I have taken my 35 years of training experience and added new twists to principal training methods to create a bespoke training and nutrition system that is fun and ensures your success. 

 

What Can I Do For You?

I am a very approachable,friendly trainer with over 35 years of experience in many different fitness disciplines. My clients ages run from early 20's to seniors.  As a Personal trainer, I live the lifestyle and I fully understand how time constraints, age, work/family commitments get in the way of a healthy active lifestyle. I can show you how to build good nutritional habits and exercise into your busy daily life.

I specialise in fitness and weight loss and I will also teach you about calories and macros and how to manage your diet so that you never have to diet again!

Knowing how to motivate my clients and to keep that motivation going is a key skill of any Personal trainer. My sessions are fun but challenging and they get results. Each and every session is different but will focus on what you want to acheive.

For those  clients with certain specific issues such as recovering from injury or physio exercises you have been given to do. In a few short weeks you will start to see the difference and feel so much better.

My clientele ranges from 20 years old to seniors. I specialise in educating clients who want to manage their weight, look great, feel confident, get fitter and have fun doing so to new mums who want to get their figures back, to bride and grooms who want to look their best on their big day to seniors who want to improve their balance and coordination and improve their fitness and energy levels.

I can train you for a specific event like your first 10K or to get you toned up or to add some muscle and improve your self confidence and body image.

I met David in December for my initial consultation, this was the first time I had ever seen a personal trainer, I was really apprehensive but in preparation for my wedding in May I just wanted to tone up so I looked my best on the big day. 


David put me at ease and explained what we could do and it sounded great....I couldn't wait to get going!
I started my pt sessions at the beginning of the year and continued them up to my wedding.
 
I didn't really want to loose any weight I wanted to tone up the wobbly bits. The results that I achieved throughout my sessions were unbelievable, my whole shape changed for the better, my arms, back and waist were my main focus points as my dress was low at the back however from the sessions my whole body felt amazing and I was the fittest I've been in years, looking back at the photos makes me so pleased that I signed up to see him.
 

Throughout the PT sessions David kept me motivated and interested, each week was different, it never felt like a chore going to see him and since the wedding I have managed to continue with my home plan that he set for me to maintain the body I always wanted.

In my late forties, no real sporting history or prowess, overweight, like a drink etc. These qualities, combined with a love of food has left me overweight and unfit.  It took me much courage to go along for a PT consultation.  However, 9 months later I am a stone and a half lighter, exercising regularly and thoroughly enjoying it.  I have just done my first 5 mile run and have signed up for a 10k. Everyone says that I look better and slimmer. This is down to David’s excellent approach – enthusiastic, motivating, persuasive and leading by example with his own fitness.  He has a keen knowledge of the science and psychology of fitness and nutrition.  Any regrets? Only that I did not start this programme ten years ago!

I started having personal training with David 3 months ago after putting on weight through bad diet and no exercise.

 

 Within the first 6 weeks I had lost 2.5 inches of fat around my waist by having 3 sessions a week and following David's guidelines on calorie intake

 David constantly pushes me to the next level, has me doing exercises and lifting weights I would never have thought I could, he mixes up the sessions to find new ways of achieving my goals so that it never gets boring.

 

 I'm having 2 sessions a week now and exercise has become habit for me outside of our sessions. I'm so glad I decided to take this step, I feel so much better about myself, the exercise allows me to have food treats so getting thin isn't a chore. If you want to lose weight, try new exercises, get diet tips and have fun whilst doing it then I'd absolutely recommend David.

For years I had slowly put on weight and before I knew it, I was fat and heading for forty.

 

I joined a gym, but didn't go as I was too lazy, embarrassed but mostly terrified by the thought of beautiful lycra clad skinny women seeing me.

 

I’d also tried all the diet clubs but it was too formulaic and too easy for me to not go.

 

 I wanted to be a good example for my children, and didn't want to be a fat lazy mum. I needed a personal trainer so I could train in private; someone who would design a unique training programme that suited what I enjoyed (or hated least!) and gave the best results for my body; someone who would guide and support me through a healthy eating plan.

 

I needed someone who thought like me, another woman who could empathise and understand, who had kids, seen it all, wasn't going to notice or care when I was purple, panting and sweating!

 

 But the only female trainer I knew couldn't fit me in, however, she recommended David.

 

I was very hesitant to contact him, after all he was a bloke; but from day one he made me feel relaxed and has actually made working out quite (remember I’m fundamentally lazy) enjoyable.

 

 He’s energetic and supportive, often sending me texts during the week to keep me focused. Most importantly he keeps pushing, changing things to keep it interesting and doesn't allow me to give up. I’m not where I want to be yet, but David has given me the confidence to believe I will be soon!
