Garden Room

Creating a specialist gym space outdoors not only adds value to your property but positively invests in you and your family’s wellbeing. Whether you are looking to design a new building or convert an existing outbuilding, our sister company Training Station  work
closely with their partners in the industry’s leading brands to provide bespoke solutions that can seamlessly be installed at whatever stage of the process you are.

Their recommended garden rooms use structurally insulated panels (SIP’s) allowing excellent thermal performance whilst providing green credentials. SIPs ensure garden rooms adhere to building regulations and offer zero rated ODP insulation.

Considerations:

Building Size

Based on their experience, Training Station Equipment recognise an often-overlooked consideration for a garden room gym is internal head height in accordance with permitted development requirements. If the building is situated at or within 1m of a boundary line, the
ceiling height must meet 2.5m, providing a 2.1m internal ceiling height. Generally, 2.4m of ceiling is required to ensure adequate clearance for most equipment and exercise. If you are in a position to facilitate a garden room located at least 2m away from any boundary line, this enables you to have an overall ceiling height of 3m. For most garden room gyms, a 5m x 4m space allows you to choose an array of equipment whilst a space of 3m x 3m is limited to a smaller selection of equipment which typically includes a small cardio machine and weights. This option therefore may be more suitable for those with specific training preferences.

Flooring

Training Station Equipment have an unequivocal understanding of the complexities of gym design. From heavy weights and high impact exercise to a yoga studio, different types of equipment can require different flooring. They knowledge allows them to make experience-
based recommendations to ensure you find the right gym flooring that provides the perfect balance between aesthetics and performance but also considers vibrations, acoustics, longevity, and sustainability.

Heating and Cooling

It’s important to consider all variable weather conditions alongside the style and intensity of your training preferences. Training Station prioritise learning and understanding your vision and goals, adjusting the temperature requirements according to your needs.
Mirrors To ensure your training is visual for self-correcting, motivating and enhancing your focus, Training Station Equipment guarantee to fit all sizes of mirrors nationwide.
