Pre-requisities / Entry Requirements
Anyone can take this course, but we do recommend gaining a recognised Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification first.

HFE offers everything you need to know about how to teach Mat Pilates to individuals and groups. Mat Pilates dates back over 100 years but has only come into its own recently. It improves strength, posture, flexibility and stability. It can also help to rehabilitate musculoskeletal injuries, especially pain in the back, and can go hand in hand with improved sporting performance.

Course Options
How is it assessed?
Before the course, a few multiple-choice assessments will prepare you for practical training days. During the course, you’ll also complete:
1. A case study on Pilates
2. A progressive exercise programme
3. Multiple choice theory exam on anatomy and physiology
4. Worksheets
5. Practical assessment
You’ll be given all the learning materials you need and as much help as you need with revision. This means you should do very well in your assessments. For qualified Advanced Fitness Instructors or Personal Trainers with the Level 3 Exercise and Fitness Knowledge units under your belt, you’ll just need to do a bridging theory exam. This involves 20 questions on the Nervous, Cardiovascular and Endocrine systems. Otherwise, you’ll have to do the whole Level 3 Anatomy unit.
What Qualification Will I Get?
This course scores 20 CPD points with the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) and in addition you’ll also be entitled to full Level 3 Status with REPs.
Pass this course and you’ll also receive the YMCA Awards Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Mat Pilates. It’s the top qualification for Pilates instructors – one that can allow you to teach Pilates and get you the appropriate insurance also.
