What Can I Do For You?

Dear clients, For the past 8 years, I have been working as a rehabilitation practitioner, treating individuals (and groups) in an acute stroke settings in one of London's busiest hospitals (University Hospital in Lewisham). My main duties cover treatment of different presentations of stroke condition such as gait and balance re-education, general and specific strengthening, rehabilitation of paralysed limbs. I am well aware of ''side effects'' of stroke such as pain, low motivation, communication difficulties and attention deficits, neglect of the paralysed limbs. I have designed specific strategies in order to address these elements of retraining as well. My retraining approach is very motivational, holistic, re-assuring and supportive while keeping the rehabilitation sessions reasonably hard in order to secure desired results. As a qualified PE teacher, personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist I make sure that I am instructing clients to my best capability, including a lot of demonstrations, checking their understanding thoroughly during exercising and provide positive feedback so that they could stay motivated and healthy and safe. I have recently qualified with ARNI institute which further allows me to deliver functional rehabilitation training, coping strategies at home, falls prevention services, specific strength and balance training, retraining of limbs with spasticity (increased muscle tone) and flaccidity (decreased muscle tone). Our NHS is very stretched at the moment and despite the staff are doing their best, not everyone will receive a tailored treatment leading to the best possible outcome. Many of you will eventually be discharged from physiotherapy completely with following recommendations : ''Do not expect too much'', ''you have reached your potential'', ''you are fine'', ''do not move your arm''. I am here for all of you who think that further improvement or return to pre-stroke functional level is possible. My passion is to assist people with neurological conditions, accompany you, motivate you, help you to regain your confidence and improve your general health through bespoke, professional, person-centred and fun rehabilitation.
