am a friendly, fully qualified, Personal Trainer and Sports Massage Therapist. I am an ex- Military and Police PTI. 

What Can I Do For You?

I help people look, move and feel better.

I have been a PTI in the army, the prison service and the Police. I have been in the fitness industry for 25 years plus, and I love it when someone achieves their aims and objectives. I am a sports massage therapist and am prepared to travel to you. I use anywhere and everywhere for training and this includes peoples homes, gardens, parks and woods. This ensures a session is not only varied but I also ensure it is fun. It's not about what I can do, it's about what you can do, and I am here to help.

I have been working with Al for a few weeks now and can only say how delighted I am to have found his website.

My first interview with him was a thorough review of my overall health and aspirations. From there, we have met regularly. Al has come to my home and worked one-to-one with me, guiding me through a wide range of exercises and activities designed to meet my need to build up strength, stamina and overall muscle tone following a shoulder injury.

From the beginning, I found Al to be astute, supportive and sensitive to my needs. Each week he has taken me through a series of different routines designed to achieve the above. He has patiently explained how each exercise would help and has done this by an effective mixture of encouragement and challenge. He has guided me so that I have not only progressed, but have also gained better understanding of how the different muscle groups work together.

He has always ensured that I was working within my capabilities, whilst at the same time pushing me to do that little bit extra.

After each session he has produced a workout action plan that I could refer to when exercising on my own.

Overall, I cannot recommend Al too highly. He has boosted my confidence and given me reason to believe that I can achieve my health and fitness goals – and that I will enjoy doing it too!!

After a shoulder operation last year, I needed help with the recovery through physiotherapy, so I started working with Alun. With the range of exercises he has taught me and massage therapy, we have strengthened my shoulder and given me back the mobility and strength that I had not had for years! He has encouraged me at every stage of my recovery. I am now able to use weights and my overall strength and fitness has improved so much in a short space of time.

He has encouraged me to start running and I completed my first 5k this summer. 

Each workout is tailored to the individual, so you can achieve exactly what you are aiming for. I have learnt so much from Alun and I am much more confident in my own abilities and body image. He is willing to share his expert knowledge and certainly leads by example.

Alun has been my personal trainer, and instructing me in gym classes for over 3 years and I am absolutely delighted at the range of skills he possesses.  Alun is qualified for, and teaches, a  huge variety of classes, and so has the widest possible range of exercises to bring to his personal training clients.  Each week there are new things to try, and I never get bored.  He is astonishingly creative in using my home and its everyday contents as training equipment, so you don't need  any expensive kit to benefit from his expertise. Alun has such an excellent eye for the musculature and how a body moves, and he was the first person in years to recognise my very old, yet still irritating, ankle injury. He is a sports therapist so he has treated my other injuries, too. He and I laugh a great deal, and I have become so much stronger, and more self confident in the type of exercise I can attempt.  He was a huge support when I planned to climb Mount Snowden in the summer  - something I had never done before. He helped me plan it well. His previous work experiences, holistic approach, professionalism and sense of fun makes him a trainer I would thoroughly recommend to anyone  - from the wheelchair bound person, to someone training for Championships.

Equipment

I use kettlebells, dyna-bands, own body weight, the TRX Suspension system, dumbbells, barbells, fit-balls, pads and gloves and anything that is around that I feel will help keep clients motivated. I adapt my sessions to suit the individual. I keep records of what I do in a session, so we can see results. I review and reflect on sessions with clients all the time to ensure the client gets the best customer service they can, which helps them to stay on track to achieve their aims and goals.
