Course Introduction
Many clients opt for boxing training and enjoy the one to one feel that pad work brings as they learn to coordinate their hands and feet as they try to hit the pads. It is a great way to get an overall body workout as well as getting ride of pent-up feelings of aggression that we all build-up as a result of the stresses we all experience on a daily basis.
Padwork and boxing training is also a great way to learn a new skill as well as a great form of self defense.
Pre-requisities / Entry Requirements
Level 2 Gym Instructor or ETM
Course Content
You can learn in this one day course to :
- execute a variety of strikes (jabs, hooks, uppercuts and knee strikes) with good technique
- use padwork equipment such as gloves, focus pads, and Muay Thai boxing pads, in addition to combat circuit style equipment such as skipping ropes and medicine balls
- build intense and challenging combinations of strikes for use with PT clients
- develop combat style one-to-one and small group exercise sessions
Course Options
Formative assessment will take place over the course of the day – students will be required to demonstrate competence in criteria based on the learning aims of the day.
What Qualification Will I Get?
Padwork for PTs and 8 REPs CPD points.
