About Me

I am passionate about people and seeing you flourish whatever your starting point! EiF Master Trainer & nutrition coach and Massage Therapist.

What Can I Do For You?

My name is Lucy and I am about enabling you achieve your goals whether that is improved health, improved weight, improved energy or all three! I am about you, so what I offer will be tailor made for you and it can be at your home or at a local venue (i.e no gym involved!) and, all of it is about making changes that last. Please note due to Covid-19 I am doing all training via Zoom now, until social distancing measures are changed.

I offer one to one sessions, partner sessions, and group sessions. I tailor the sessions to you according to your goals.  Often it is not one thing in isolation but a combination of fitness, lifestyle and nutrition coaching that is key for transformational and lasting changes.

So if you are feeling stuck and overwhelmed with where you are now and you don’t know what to do or where to start, then start by getting in touch then we can discuss where you are at and make a plan to make those changes. I am called Mustard Seed Personal Training as it all starts small but that is just the beginning as it can then lead to amazing things, and believe me all of us can achieve way more than we ever imagined!

I have a varied background and experience. I worked as a health adviser and counsellor for 14 years which brings a unique element to what I am offering as a Master Trainer. I have had setbacks along the way, through injury and illness and know what it is like to find your life again after these interruptions.

This is me, bringing a mix of adventure, challenge, knowledge, life experience, yet also empathy, care, commitment and dedication to the people I work with, as I said it is about you!

Donna - I was apprehensive to start with a PT as I had a pre conceived image of someone with a whistle shouting at me to run miles and miles. I was out of shape, down on myself and I couldn’t walk too far without getting out of breath. So the idea of someone shouting at me scared me half to death.

Over the year I worked with Lucy I was taught how to live a healthy lifestyle and exercise effectively. Not to yoyo diet and head for an exercise regime that I could not sustain. Lucy's wealth of knowledge has given me the tools to lead a healthy life and I have never felt better.
I do not feel I am on a diet nor am I missing out. She has taught me that it is ok to enjoy a wine and chocolate but has made me mindful of the portions I have.
The exercises we did together were always at a level I felt comfortable with Lucy never made me do anything I didn’t want to but explained the importance of the few I was not so keen on!
This year I have lost 2 dress sizes and I am physically stronger than I have ever been. My body shape has changed and I have gained so much more confidence in my own skin. I no longer feel out of place at the gym and I am even complimented on my good form!
Lucy made it fun; we laughed all the time and I think this is what sets Lucy apart from many others. We are all human, we are all people just trying to better ourselves, we are all at different levels, we all find it hard, exercise can be tough but it doesn’t have to be a chore. Lucy understands this and keeps you motivated even on the darkest days when you want to quit. Lucy will be there if you are having a wobble and will be your biggest cheerleader when you want to celebrate.
I can honestly say if you have not worked with Lucy you really are missing out on how Personal training should to be.

Jon - Before working with Lucy I had a number of muscular- skeletal aches & pains and to be honest I was treating the symptoms not the causes. My balance was all over the place. On meeting Lucy I could instantly see she was a straight talking person with a lot of patience and a great sense of fun - so not problems in taking me on as a client. Lucy pushed me and challenged me to do more and more each session. This was exhausting at times but she always knew how far to take it and I built up a lot of trust and respect  for her in this process. As a result of working with Lucy I have much improved balance and flexibility, I understand how my lifestyle affects my body, my tennis elbow got better quickly  and I can run without the debilitating knee pain. She is a star!

Colin - I achieved weight loss which was far beyond what I expected and overall felt better in just four weeks. Lucy is very patient and tailored the exercise to my level of fitness and accommodated my pre-existing injuries. Personally my favourite part of the sessions were having her there to push me forward in a safe way whilst she maintained her patience and our sense of humour.
The program, being a multi-targeted approach led to a lifestyle which is much easier to live with, compared to the excessive diet and exercise that I have tried before to reach my weight loss goals.

I would fully recommend Lucy Gardner as a personal trainer and beyond that as a professional who takes an approach covering lifestyle, nutrition and exercise to help her clients achieve their goals. She does this with patience, knowledge and the ability to listen to her clients and their needs.

Kate - The training with Lucy was brilliant, it made me do things I don’t normally do and the training has helped my running! With a bit of nutrition coaching we have made a few changes that have made a big difference. I looked forward to the training as I enjoyed seeing the progress I made, and by the end I could do squats and lunges!
