In-between completing university courses in Engineering and Management I have trained for a number of different sports. Everything from martial arts to cycling and triathlons, but I have never been satisfied with the results which I have found very frustrating. After completing my last university course I felt that I wanted to take on another physical challenge, but in my late 30’s I didn’t want to waste time with ineffective training plans from books and the internal. I signed up for a 30 mile mountain bike race for charity. To train for this I decided to re-join the gym and use a personal trainer, however I was sceptical about the whole personal trainer thing as I wanted to improve my endurance as well look better. This is when I meet John; having reviewed the write ups on each of the personal trainers, John seemed to be the perfect fit as he was similar in age and a very accomplished endurance athlete running several marathons a year. John set out a training regime that saw me reduce my waist line by over 6 inches, I lost 2 stones in weight and my body fat % go down from 25% to less than 15% all in the first six months of training. I’m now in the same size cloths that I wore in my early 20’s. Using John’s knowledge, support and encouragement I have gone on to complete several one day races, a very difficult 200mile 3 day coast to coast endurance mountain bike race that saw me riding for 10 hours per day and a weeklong trip riding round the Alps in France. I originally started training with John to complete one race and have come away with a completely new life style where I train 4 to 6 times a week and plan my year around more and more challenging sporting events. I would like recommend John to everyone wanting to achieve their goals whatever they may be. I would like to personally thank John for turning my life style round and opening a world of activities to me and I look forward to training for my next big adventure.
