Course Introduction

This course is essential for fitness professionals wanting to branch into or specialise in this sector of the fitness industry and provides the underpinning knowledge required to manage a GP-referred client.

Once you have completed the course you will be able to work alongside healthcare professionals, either on a freelance basis or in association with a health club. You will have sufficient knowledge of low risk injuries and illnesses and how exercise and physical activity can prevent or reduce the risk of further damage.

The GP & Exercise Referral qualification… is accredited by Central YMCA Qualifications and is internationally recognised. This means I will be able to travel throughout the UK and Europe and my qualification will be fully recognised. I will also receive 20 CPD points towards my Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS) re-registration.

Level 3 Advanced Gym Instructor or Level 3 Personal Training qualification

Course Content

During the GP & exercise referral program I'll learn about… the relationship between exercise and health, how to maintain behavioral changes, aetiology and pathology of common medical conditions as well as how to develop and maintain an exercise referral scheme.

I'll study this GP & exercise referral specialist courses… online. I can work at my own pace, in my own time and from where I like. All I have to attend personally is the assessment day and the optional training day if I choose to.
